Where are the qualification matches played?

Qualification matches are generally played in the region where the team is registered.

However, some golf courses are located close to each other across regional borders, and in such cases it may be more practical to organize matches between teams from different regions. When distances between clubs are short and it results in a more practical and fair setup, matches may therefore be scheduled across regions.

Our goal is to ensure the best possible flow in the tournament while minimizing travel for players, without compromising fairness. All match setups will be carefully considered to balance geographical location with practical factors.

How do I sign up?

You can sign up by registering your team here.

The participation fee is paid upon registration.

What does it cost to participate?

The participation fee is 999 NOK per person.

Qualification stage costs:
Green fees and any additional costs related to qualification matches are covered by each team. Substitute players do not pay a registration fee.

Who can participate?

The tournament is open to all amateur golfers with a valid handicap. Players of all levels from across Scandinavia are welcome.

Can I play on multiple teams?

No, you may only participate on one team.

​

What is the format of play?

The tournament is played as Texas Scramble Matchplay.

Matchplay is a format where you compete directly against an opponent, aiming to win more holes than the opposing team.

Is this a knockout tournament?

Yes.

I don’t have a partner – can I sign up alone?

Would you like to participate in Arctic Golf Challenge but don’t have a partner?

You can sign up individually, provided that there are other players from your region doing the same.

Are there handicap requirements?

The maximum handicap for participation is 28. Players with a higher handicap may still participate but will be adjusted to 28.

How is the percentage-based handicap calculated?

Example:

• Player 1: HCP 18.0

• Player 2: HCP 24.5

Combined HCP: 42.5
Adjusted team HCP: 42.5 × 0.25 = 10.62 → rounded to 10.6

When is the trip to Lofoten Links?

July 23–26, 2026

Why is qualification in 2025 and the final in 2026?

Due to the number of participants, it is not possible to complete both the qualification rounds and the final in the same year, as the qualification stage will not be finished until September/October 2025.

How do you qualify for Lofoten Links?

By winning up to 6 matches, your team will win its group and secure a place at Lofoten Links.

 

Can I get a refund if I cannot participate?

Refunds are only given if cancellation is made at least 30 days before the tournament starts. An administrative fee of 200 NOK per player will apply.
